2005-06-09 - 12:19 p.m. I'm terrible. I'm blowing my blogging wad elsewhere, and I'm left without material for Diaryland. For anyone who needs fannie's wit at least daily, read me here: http://blog.myspace.com/wasnotwas You'll want to cut and paste that. I'm an HTML failure. So as of late I've been doing a lot of mapping. We're leaving Washington anytime between June 26-29th. Once we hear back from Jeremy's brother we'll be able to pinpoint a departure date. In the meantime I've been trying to figure out where we might land each night. I'm ambitiously hoping that the first night will find us in Rapid City, South Dakota. It's about 1100 miles from our house, but that would put us 900-or-so miles from Grand Rapids for the next day. And Radid City's about 20 miles from Mount Rushmore. It's nice to squeeze in some sightseeing on our mad-dash to the east coast. Americana! But where was I? Oh yes. Day two would land in Grand Rapids. Then the last day, we're only 944 miles from Portland, so we could bang that out easily. Unless we are unable to stay with Jeremy's brother, in which case we'll take I-90 the whole way back, and I'm not sure where stops would be. Other than Rapid City. And maybe it will take four days instead of the three I'm currently (ambitiously) anticipating. As far as money goes, we're not saving as much as we should. But Jeremy got a credit card (a surprise for both of us!), and hopefully MasterCard will finance the trip home almost entirely. Then we can pay it down once we're employed. It's a modest limit, so we can't get in too much trouble. And how am I? Oh I'm fine. The coffeepot is dying. It doesn't always deposit coffee into the pot. Sometimes half of it leaks out the side, other times it produces no coffee whatsoever. The grounds were wet, proving that coffee was made. The last two days I've stood in the kitchen to watch the coffee percolate, and it's been working. You can't say a watched pot never percolates! Oh god that made me sick.
