2004-03-04 - 4:35 p.m. I'm not at home. Home is where I don't have cable, internet, or phone access. That's not entirely true anymore, since a kindly gentleman from Time Warner Cable stopped by earlier this afternoon to demand money from me. Rent next week, cable now! And my cell phone is our new home phone. But still. This is the first time in almost two weeks I've been online. Not much has happened in that time. I'm a temp for Manpower now. I've yet to be assigned anywhere, but the promise of at least $9/hr excites me. And I've been getting TWO shifts a week at Vic's, double the previous one-a-week. We've been watching lots of old movies, and the other night Jeremy forced me to watch Jaws for the first time. I didn't expect to like it, since in my mind it was going to be a dumb shark horror flick. But holy fucking shit!!!!! Not only was it funny, but interesting! And I think more films should feature a floating dead head. Also: two Sundays ago I was listening to World Cafe (part of my public radio Sunday line-up), and John Mayer was the guest. Post-interview, I decided I didn't hate him as much as I once did. I was disappointed to learn that he's funny and likes good music. I still can't forgive "Your Body is a Wonderland", but I can't automatically hate newer stuff strictly because he wrote it. And now I'm done. More sometime next month.
