2004-01-18 - 11:26 a.m. I'm not scheduled to work this week. Jen had mentioned she didn't have many hours to give me, but I thought that meant one shift instead of three. But that's fine. I'm planning to sit with a chocolate sugared doughnut, a cup of coffee, and the classified ads (courtesy of Country Kitchen, Green Mountain, and the Portland Press Herald, respectively). I've got Maine Public Radio on in the background for entertainment. I'm going to have a fantastically calm day. My morning was a little sad. No big deal, it's just that Jeremy left without saying goodbye. I had planned to give him a ride. I'm sure he was trying to be nice by allowing me to rest, but the minute I heard the door close I was wide awake. I'm so retarded. Last night I went out to dinner with Pook and Emily. From this experience I learned that the capital of South Carolina is NOT Charleston, but Columbia. Because Charleston is the capital of West Virginia. We also turned Trivial Pursuit cards into a makeshift Jeopardy game. It's much more fun! After that I went to Regan's housewarming party at not her apartment. Initially awkward and uncomfortable, I was able to make conversation after a moderate amount of tequila. By the time Jeremy got there I was drunk out of my mind. We left after 1:30 and came home to settle into an episode of "Frontier House". It's on DVD, you know! If you've never experienced this PBS reality-show sensation, I recommend it highly. Don't bother with "Manor House". It's very stuffy.
