2004-01-12 - 7:04 p.m. The temperature is in the double digits for the first time this week (I think...I don't know how long the mind-numbing cold has lasted...) It was near 20 degrees when I left for work. Never in my life did I think 20 degrees would feel balmy. I could've laid out in a swimsuit and shorts. I got my hair cut. But the day after I had it done, only one person at work noticed it. Does this mean the people who neglected to acknowledge the difference dislike the haircut? I mean, it makes little sense to point it out just to tell you that it's a terrible haircut... Not that I care. I like my haircut. It just made me think about new-hairdo interaction. Commenting on a new hairdo generally includes "I like it!" or "It looks great!"...some sort of positive affirmation. It's funny. I think I'd be happy to hear "Oh, you got your haircut. You should've left it alone, it REALLY draws attention to your face." So my past couple visits to this site I've been perusing diaryrings and clicking on ad banners. I again have to note that almost every site I land on looks twelve hundred times better than mine. Why does HTML have to be do difficult and uninteresting?! But there are lots of cool sites. You people are fascinating. And I've come to realize something that I've known deep-down for ages now: I love typos. Not purposeful misspellings (though in the right context they too have their charm), but accidental key strokes. Punctuation thrown into the wrong place. Or just my initial misreading of something written correctly... do you ever take typos at face value and try to assign meaning to it? I highly recommend it. Correcting is a secondary thought to me now. What else? It seems I don't have anything to say. My last few entries have been painfully dull. It's forcing me to think about doing something productive and interesting. *sigh*
