2003-12-03 - 6:29 p.m. I hung out with Emily last night. I was glad she was willing to leave her apartment! Note to other people who want to lure Emily out: buy her fast food. We shut down the Burger King...we had spent some obscene amount of time talking, and suddenly the lights went out. We looked at the crew behind the counter, who shrugged at us and told us we could stay and keep talking if we wanted. Of course we recognized this as a complete and total lie, so we left. So I (as well as every other resident of Portland, I'm sure) received a Portland Adult Ed catalog in the mail. I never realized how many things I could learn for so little money! There's business and technical stuff, some web stuff...and cooking! And gardening! And knitting! And BELLYDANCING! It's an amazing new world that's opened before me, all thanks to the Portland Pubic Schools system. I'm thinking about aerobics or pilates, because let's face it I need to move at some point. (I realized there was a problem upon my third viewing of Dr. Phil without changing the channel). I'm also contemplating the belly dancing, but I have no real coordination. I figure that if I want to spend $100 on a class I'd at least like to look like I know what I'm doing by the time I finish. Today Jeremy and I had the day off (I moved my four-hour shift to Thursday, and no one cared! I love my manager). We woke up at noon, then fell asleep again on the couch until three. We are the biggest slugs. But it's not like we had plans. I'd just assume sleep than stare blankly at the walls, eating left-over corn pudding. We might leave the apartment later this evening...not sure yet. We're contemplating going to see "Elf". Which reminds me, if you haven't seen "Love Actually" yet, then run...RUN!...to the nearest movie theater and watch it. NOW! I've seen it twice now and I'm making plans to see it a third time. That's all I've got for you. I need egg nog.
